Really friendly people good food plenty of parking been stopping here for a while now maybe 2 or 3 years I love this place

The staff was friendly. The rims, while not fancy we're great and clean. It's location near the Gurdon Spook Light was great, allowing us to ghost hunt till midnight and return to a nearby comfy bed. Price was very fair.

Extremely disappointed with Southfork Inn.

Great people and great food. Great atmosphere would recommend everyone, ask for Tracy she will treat you right. Just make sure you remember her tip. Go check them out you won't be disappointed.

After losing our home to a fire, Statefarm is trying to get us some form of housing while Southfork Inn decided they could not accommodate us as guest, because we have four legged children. And keep in mind that one of the adults would have been there with them at ALL times.

The main reason for needing a hotel is needing to get back to work so that we can get back on our feet and begin the process of rebuilding our lives.

Worst motel experience ever. After about 13 hours on the road from West Virginia, we stopped for gas at what I assume is the local truckstop in this small town. After waiting for the "cashier" to get off her phone, we paid for the fuel and decided we would just stay the night at the conveniently located motel directly across the highway. We pulled up to the office there, and went inside. Roughly 7-8 minutes of waiting at the counter, a female finally came down a set of stairs and came in to register us for a room. I got the impression it was an inconvenience for her to have to check us in, to which I apologized, with no response from her. We got our key and headed to our room, which was a smoking room, even though neither me nor my wife smoke. We were told this was all that was available, even though there were only 6 cars in the parking lot. My biggest concern with the smoking room was the fact that it might smell like cigarettes, this would turn out to be the least of our problems. Upon entering the room, if there were a smell of cigarettes, you couldn't have noticed for the odor of dogs that must have been in there at some point. Luckily we had some air freshener which helped somewhat. Once we finally got settled and ready for bed, it turned out that everyone else in the place was just getting their night started. A lot of loud talking, laughing, yelling, and people running up and down the stairs. At one point I opened the door just to see what all was going on and WOW the smell of marijuana was horrific. If we weren't so tired we would have just left at this point. Thank goodness the clerk offered us the lowest rate possible. Still, wasn't worth the $49.50 we spent for the nightmare we endured.

Thanks for your help, or lack thereof!

OK, so if this was an upscale hotel I could completely understand, however this is a truck stop motel. Gurdon is an extremely tight knit town with understanding of families and their situations and always willing to help each other when they are down.
